Entry from: Panama City, Panama Entry Title: "C****s and Beisbol" Entry: "After an overpriced breakfast in Quito International we flew Avianca (which was a nice airline) to Bogota in Colombia. Quito charges $40 departure each, we felt a bit robbed after paying that when we've been staying in hostels for $5 a night. Bogota's airport was fairly uneventful except for the ridiculous price of an English magazine - $11. We didn't buy it., but Steph has run out of anything to read for the moment. The taxi drivers are very sneaky here, promise you a good price then change it and pretend it was always much higher. We stood our ground and after changing cars a few times got a good deal. They pull the old "your hostel is very bad, my friend has a much better place for you" trick as well. We're staying in Hostal Mamallena in Panama City. It's a small friendly place with a pet dog ... again, and a cat called Gato 2. Very helpful info about all the things to do in Panama too, and you can make pancakes for breakfast! Panama City seems like a nice place, you can see the mix of Indigenous, Spanish, Caribbean and American influence. We walked down to the seafront to see the views before the sunset.
